I know you're fatigued from all the fundraising initiatives sent out on a daily basis, hoping to raise funds for some group of hungry people in McDonald's Town or illiterate children in Park City, Utah, but this is different!  I'm part of a three person team called the Granny Yankers - in this case, 'Yankers' refers to Americans, not...something violent or unbecoming.  

My team, made up of my friend's 89 year-old mother, Emmie, my buddy Kristin and myself, will push our way across 9 kilometers of harsh Sydney streets in an effort to raise funds to support a group in Fiche, Ethiopia with their plans to build a working model traditional herbal medicine garden – funds will go towards buying beekeeping hives to keep at the garden site.  This is an initiative of Botanica Ethiopis

Oh, and 'harsh' Sydney streets means we'll going to be sweating it out and doing our best to complete a gruelling course over the Harbour Bridge, around Sydney's CBD and finishing at the Opera House steps... 

The Granny Yankers promise that no 'old' people will be harmed during the course of the day.  Emmie will be tucked in her wheelchair, proudly flying the Ethiopian flag while drinking cups of tea and telling the 'Yankers' what fantastics jobs we're doing.
