Story
Dear All,
I'm taking part in the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 2013 and hope to raise much needed funds for my favourite charity SHINE for Kids Co-operative.
SHINE for Kids supports children affected by a parent serving time in prison. These children are the unseen victims of crime caused by their parents. It is not their fault but they do suffer the consequences beyond their control.
SHINE for Kids supports children by creating hope, inspiring them to reach their potential, nurturing their growth and empowering them to succeed.
This September, I’m going to be sweating it out and doing my best to complete the course over across the most beautiful city in the world, Sydney.
I am honoured to be a part of this amazing race and helping a great cause, and I’d really appreciate your support in this endeavour.

SHINE for Kids Co-operative Limited
SHINE for Kids provides support to children and their families of an incarcerated parent. These children are classified as the hidden victims of the criminal justice system. SHINE for Kids supports these children through a number of programs and services. We aim at reducing some of the negative effects associated with the incarceration of a parent. These include a fear of being ostracized by the community, shame and isolation. Through the support of SHINE for Kids, we provide the children with hope and inspiration; we nurture them and empower them to reach their fullest potential.
